This small town is located along the Ohio River at exit 37
on Interstate 24 just as you cross into Illinois

We stopped at the welcome center to gather information and to our surprise we were so close to this little town we had to make a detour and visit the
 "Home of Superman"

Metropolis is the official Home of Superman and honors him with a 12-15 foot statue right in the middle of Superman Square. Of course Lois Lane (Noel Neil) isn't far away. Theres a statue two blocks down the street.

This town is the place to visit if you are a comic and Superman fan, the town's newspaper is even named  "The Daily Planet".  Every year on the second weekend of June, hundreds gather here for a celebration super style.

The murals in the town were awesome and interesting.

The Museum on Main street is the life's work of Superman and comic collector Jim Hambrick.  It has over 20K items, which is one of the greatest collections of Superman memorabilia in the world.  The Superman Museum was awarded the honor of "#1 Small Town Attraction in America"

The night view was my favorite to photograph since the streets were empty. There is a lot more to see in this town, it's packed with things to do. If you ever get a chance to visit this small town I think you'll be Super excited!!
