Land Between The Lakes Is Worth A Visit!

Take A Ride On The Wild Side!

Located in Kentucky and Tennessee between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.

Land Between the Lakes has a Nature Station, Homeplace, Planetarium, my favorite Elk and Bison Park and lots more.   The Elk and Bison Prairie is located at the Golden Pond area, there's a $5 fee per vehicle.  Bring cash, as I recall they don't take credit or debit cards. On this trip we decided to enter from the town of Cadiz.  The bridge wasn't my favorite so prefer to enter from the interstate and drive back up to the prairie.  We love the recreation area, this trip we spent 4 days.  Did a little fishing on the lakes.  I've never seen catfish so big!  We lodged at the Lighthouse Landing Resort and Marina on Kentucky Lake.  The accommodations were great, the grounds were clean and well kept. The walking trails were nice. Fishing was great but most of all the sunsets were magnificent.  We dined at Patti's 1880s Settlement. It was a step back in time.  So much to see, the gardens were interesting and lovely.  I loved everything about it.  The 2 inch pork chops is one menu item that you should try.

The wildlife is abundant, they come right up to the car.  You can see lots of Elk and Bison.  Even a few wild turkeys if you're lucky.   This drive is well worth the fee.  You can drive around as many times as you please.   Take a ride through the Prairie!!
