Want To Go Back In Time? Zaharakos Is The Place

Zaharakos Ice Cream Parlor & Museum

Our hotel clerk told us about this gem in downtown Columbus, Indiana after lodging overnight on a road trip.  This took us back in time.  This 1900s ice cream parlor has a classic American Menu.  It brought back memories of my childhood with the museum. What a Historic Landmark, it had all the toys I played with as a child.  There is even a pipe organ playing while you eat.

.
Zaharakos boast the largest collection of pre-1900 marble soda fountains on public display, even one from the 1850s!  The city has some of the best art work! We had lunch and of course I had to try the classic banana split.

If You Love Jellies, Jams, Spreads or Preserves This Is Your Place!

Everything about this Ice Cream parlor I loved, from the old soda fountains , carved oak, stained glass, malt fountains and of course the toys.  The candy wasn't bad either!
